About the role

As part of the Business Process & Risk team, the job will act as the subject matter expert in business process and controls, focusing on primarily in supply chain processes, including procurement, warehouse management and sales.

This will be a “hands-on” role where you will work very closely with our stakeholders to drive step change in the organisation.

  • Business Process Owners (BPOs) – Operations, Supply Chain, Finance
  • Key users across the organisation
  • IT application teams

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

You will work as one of our Business Analysts in various business projects and initiatives, as well as support the management of change requests (CRs) submitted by the business stakeholders.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and make recommendations to the BPOs – through process reviews, or data analysis
  • Work with BPOs, other Business Analysts and the Development team to produce clear and well documented business requirements, process and data flow diagrams and key user guides.
  • Work with the Project Manager to lead and facilitate discussions with business stakeholders to establish the scope, business needs, project objectives, acceptance criteria and expectations.
  • Work with relevant business stakeholders (including BPOs) to understand and define the as-is and to-be end-to-end business processes and solutions
  • Work with our BPOs to develop appropriate policies to ensure appropriate governance of the new process and solutions
  • Analyse the impact of the proposed solutions across the end to end process, ensuring the proposed solutions and processes are optimised and well controlled
  • Facilitate discussions in workshops, obtain business feedback and translate the feedback into business requirements for the development team
  • Ensure business requirements are accepted and approved by the relevant business stakeholders
  • Develop functional, system integration and user acceptance test scripts to ensure all business requirements are appropriately tested
  • Review test results to ensure they correspond to the expectations and requirements of the business
  • Produce documentation to support key user and end user training (self-help or instructor led)
  • Review and manage CRs to ensure the requirements are appropriate and lead the UAT effort
  • Be the first port of call for our key users on processes, systems or training issues or questions

Your primary focus will be on supply chain processes, however you will need to work closely with other Business Analysts in the department to ensure impact on other process areas are well considered.

There will also be opportunities for you to contribute improvement initiatives within the department, e.g. change request process improvement.

 

 

Person Specification

  • 3 or more years of proven experience in the areas of supply chain / operations processes and SAP business analysis roles
  • Experience in SAP ERP, especially for the Sales & Distribution (SD) and Material Management (MM) module, is essential
  • Business Analyst qualifications a bonus (e.g. from British Computer Society)
  • Ability to communicate (verbal and written) clearly and effectively with both IT and business stakeholders, with proven experience in acting as the “bridge” between the two parties
  • Skilled at capturing business requirements, creating user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Skilled at process design and improvement
  • Skilled at application testing – developing test scripts, reviewing test results
  • Basic data analytic skills to analyse data (e.g. SQL or advanced Excel) essential
  • Experience in working in cross-functional project teams essential
  • Experience in both waterfall and agile project methodologies a bonus
  • Experience and knowledge in CRM applications a bonus
  • Experience in marketing, customer and sales data analytics a bonus
  • Background in audit or internal controls function a bonus
